Is the Desert Spring Power Humidifier for me?

Will it work on my furnace?

Can I install the unit myself?

A detailed instruction and installation manual is provided with every unit. It is even available online! This easy-to-follow guide makes installing the Desert Spring Power Humidifier an easy do-it-yourself project.

What tools would be needed?

  [TOP]

You will need a level, Philips head and Robertson head screwdrivers, pliers, drill, adjustable wrench, tin snips, and a pencil.

  [TOP]

The Desert Spring Power Humidifier has a one-year warranty against defect in workmanship or materials. See Warranty.

Will it fit where my old, existing humidifier is located?

Installation and Maintenance Questions:

I lost my installation manual. Can you help?

  [TOP]

The installation manual is now available online for your convenience. If you require a new printed copy, please contact us for information on getting a new one sent out to you.

How often should I clean out the water reservoir?

  [TOP]

In typical applications, the water reservoir only needs to be emptied and wiped-out at the end of the heating season (spring). However, if you live in an area where the mineral content of the water is quite high (such as well water in a rural setting), this may have to be done more often. If you notice large amounts of sediment at the bottom of the reservoir, it is time to empty it. Note, however, that the sediment will not affect the efficiency of the Desert Spring Power Humidifier, nor will the minerals enter your airstream.

Is there anything special I should do at the end of the heating season?

  [TOP]

The recommended procedure at the end of the heating season is to turn off the water supply to the humidifier, and then empty and wipe-out the water reservoir. If there are still mineral deposits on the basin, a quick rinse with a mild white vinegar solution will clean them out. If you have air conditioning, you should also close the hot air supply damper (included in the DS2000H). Your Desert Spring Power Humidifier is now ready to wait out the summer, ready for the next heating season.
