Periodic Cleaning

Periodically, the basin of the Desert Spring Power Humidifier will require cleaning to remove minerals that build up in the basin. The frequency of the cleaning process is dependent on the mineral content of the water used in the humidification process, as well as the amount of time the Desert Spring Power Humidifier is used. Generally in North America, cleaning of the Desert Spring Power Humidifier is necessary once every three months during humidification season.

To perform such periodic cleaning and to ensure that your Desert Spring Power Humidifier continues to perform at peak efficiency, simply follow these steps:

1. Turn the water source off at the saddle valve;
2. Drain the water from the basin into a bucket using the built-in drain;
3. Remove the disc wheel and with a sponge remove any mineral build-up directly out of the front of the basin (if the minerals have hardened a cup of white vinegar will quickly dissolve most types of build-up);
4. Re-install the wheel, close the drain, turn the water back on, and your system will be like new!

Season End

When cleaning your Desert Spring Power Humidifier at the end of the humidification season, disconnect the power supply to the humidifier and shut off the water supply. Activate the Desert Spring AutoFlush timer (see Desert Spring AutoFlush timer installation instructions for activation procedures). Once all the water has drained from the pan, unplug the Desert Spring AutoFlush timer.
